“ Food was absolutely delicious! The rice was a bit dry tbh but the curry was really good and full of flavour! The place is really nice as well. I got the strawberry cooler drink and it’s worth it! Would definitely go again! ”
“ Wanted to visit for a long time and finally got along. Well worth the visit. A warm welcome, excellent service and really enjoyable food. There were at least 10 things on the menu I wanted to try so will definitely be back. Good value for money too. Highly recommended ”
“ One of the best Gigglings, definitely recommended, great food, attentive staff, highly recommended. ”
“ First time in Leicester - up until that point the biggest UK city I hadn’t visited - and looking for a decent meal. The Giggling Squid was a natural choice, as I’ve always liked the Cardiff one. Nice location, in a little square near the cathedral. It was a sunny day so some people were sat outside. I didn’t, as I don’t do that in the UK. This was good though, as the inside was cool and quiet. Seated immediately, in a booth no less, the service here was excellent from start to finish. Ordered the crispy squid bits to start - I love this, a generous portion of crispy squid with a good level of spice. Order it and make sure you eat all the ‘dust’ at the end. For a main, I tried the sticky chicken with a coconut rice - this is described as a ‘hearty’ portion. That makes me think of Henry VIII, now there was a man who liked a hearty meal. He’d have approved of this - it was a very generous portion! I’m no match for Henry though, so I didn’t finish.... Lovely flavour though. The roti breads made an appearance on the table - not mine, but they are very good. Overall a really good meal, served at a good pace and well priced. I would commend this restaurant to anyone looking for Thai food in Leicester. The beer is Chang, by the way - as it was and as it should be - I didn’t have any on this occasion though. Yet another difference between me and the merry monarch; a man who drank beer for breakfast. ”
“ Giggling Squid, although a chain restaurant company, still embodies a very family owned restaurant aura. The decor is immaculate, the menu is extensive (even for vegans) and the service is spectacular. I’ve had the pleasure of being served by Andre twice and he’s so friendly, helpful and accommodating. I was also served by a Lithuanian guy (I didn’t get his name) but he was also very friends. I usually like eating at “local” Thai places however Giggling Squid passes the vibe check for sure. Great food, great ambience and great service. Keep it up Andre and team. 10/10. ”
“ Been here a few times and the food seems to be getting better all the time, the timid papaya salad is now full blown Thai flavourful, the pranee prawn were excellent and chilli basil gra pao chicken delighted the taste buds. Definitely worth trying, will be better going for more of the same again ”
“ Lovely restaurant, beautifully decorated. Delicious food, exquisitely spiced and great for vegetarians because of the wide range of vegetables in the dishes. The service was wonderful and caring especially for a lone diner - it was also comfortable because there were many lone diners clearly showing how welcoming the atmosphere is. Will have to visit other ones in different parts of England. Thanks again for the amazing meal. ”
“ We visited the Giggling Squid in Leicester today as a family of 2 adults and a child of 12. The service was impeccable ensuring any needs were met and asking just enough how our meals were throughout the evening. The food was fantastic. I’m don’t usually photograph the food but this time to show the quality and presentation I did. For the mains we had sticky chicken, Thai beef and the prawn and crab. It was stunning. If you are a fan of Thai food and want really excellent quality come to this restaurant. ”
